Generating submenu on mouseover

hi all.

i want to get a submenu on a mouseover, so if you have a picture in your menu and your mouse hits it, a couple of more pics appear. since im dutch ill try to make things more clear with a "picture"

is this possible with javascript or do i have to use flash for this? because i dont know nothing about flash so then i can forget the whole idea :P
