The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Help understanding code

Asked by sre23 in JavaScript

This code was produced by Dreamweaver MX when creating actions for a rollover image.  What it does is swap the current image with another one (passed as a parameter):

function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0
  var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3)
   if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];}
}

my problem is that I have 2 different images on my page that both have hotspot rollovers, and dreamweaver is making them both use this same method to control the image swapping.  The problem is that when I roll over the second image, the first one is still being swapped with the new image.  What I need is for my first image to swap itself when rolled over with the mouse, and my second image swap itself when rolled over.  Since I do not know javascript yet I figured I would just copy this method and rename it, that way it wouldn't get confused with which image to swap.  The only problem is that I don't understand this method at all, and can't figure out where it is specifying which image to swap..

So please help - or if there is a simpler way of doing this please let me know.  Again, I do not know javascript yet.  If you need more code, just ask.
