The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

IFrame resize with external content

I have a problem and cannot seem to find an answer.  I have spent hours scouring the web looking for something that works, but so far I can't figure it out.  I have a website that will utilize some back end pages off another server.  The design of the main page requires that I load these back end pages into an IFRAME or something similar.  Basically what is going on is that I have another company that is processing things like applications, etc.. so that there will be integration with some proprietary software that runs on their server.  I have no control over these pages that are going to load in the IFRAME, but I need to be able to resize the IFRAME so that all the content is displayed and there is no huge spaces at the bottom.  The other factor that complicates this is that the pages that are going to be loaded actually have links of their own that go to other pages on this remote server.  So, what I need to happen is to have the IFRAME load the first page and be the right height to display the contents of this page.  Then when a link is clicked on the page being displayed in the IFRAME and a new page is loaded in the IFRAME it needs to resize so that all of this new pages contet is being displayed.  From what I can see there is a way to do this if the files that are being loaded into the IFRAME are on the same server as their parent pages or if I can add some code to the pages in the IFRAME, but in this situation this is not possible.  I am also not set on using IFRAMEs.  If there is a better way that would be fine.  The big thing is that the pages that are being loaded need to function completely (one of them is a sophisticated form that feeds application data into a particular software program).Start Free Trial
