Hello everyone,
This is a followup to previous EE question:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Languages/JavaScript/Q_22094859.html , regarding popping up pictures when mousing over areas on an image map. I am trying to make it work with tooltips at:
http://207.234.222.20It seems to work with IE, but Firefox is not cooperating. I have two questions about this...
1. It is weird that we programmers have to deal with something this lame this many years after M$ won the browser wars? I thought Netscape was dead and gone, but dang if it's not back as Firefox. Why do people use this thing? Wait, I have an idea. Let's come out with a line of products that use 275 volts DC as an alternative to the domination of 110/220 AC electricity! Isn't that a great idea? We can use it to prove what a waste of time Firefox is. Ok, so if I am wrong about Firefox, please correct me. That is my first question, thank you.
2. The other question is, any suggestions on how to edit the already-crazily syntaxed Javascript so it will be cross browser compatible? Javascript is cool, but the business with quotes within quotes singles doubles etc... gets a little weird for those of us older than 30. That stuff is for skoolkids who think it's fun working out the patterns. Alright, so I admit it, I am lazy. I figured by now I would have programmed a money machine, but I can't get hired into the right job... that is another story... and only a joke, ok?
After the Javascripts work for Firefox and IE on PCs, I also need to get it working on one of these:
http://207.234.222.20/pics/control.jpgIf you are not sure what that device is, it's for people who think a good use of technology is an "auto butt cleaner" in the toilet. Marketing research reveals the browser of preference for the toilet control units is Firefox. Figures, right?
peace.
