The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Add rows as needed to table

Asked by pwtucker in JavaScript

Hi Experts,
I am beginning to understand javascript a little better (more of windows guy) and want to add more function to my little app that "gops1" has helped me tremendously with.
Here is the scenario:
Right now I have a table with 15 rows and 6 columns.  The fields are col1dropdown1, col2dropdown1, col3dropdown1, col4dropdown1, col5textbox1, col6textbox1 and the last row is a text area and will not need to be duplicated.  What I would like to do now is when the page is first loaded just show one row and the textarea (this is for general comments) and allow the user to add rows as needed.  When the user clicks add row it would duplicate row 1, but change the name/id to col1dropdown2, col2dropdown2, col3dropdown2, col4dropdown2, col5textbox2, col6textbox2 (the new row would be inserted above the last row which is my general comments field).  When the user clicks the submit button it is sending all the form data to a user via email, so I need to know what value goes with what field (this is why I need to give each field the same name with the number incrementing).

Earnings Type     TaskCode     Hours         Location      WorkOrder     Comments
dropdown           dropdown    dropdown   dropdown    input field       inputfield

I hope this makes sense, but if not let me know.
