yeah, and that article is already a year old. jquery just released their official ui code not too long ago, we really need something recent here!!

Problem is most people select libraries based on their needs (prototype for oop, etc.) Other than magazines (PC World, PC Magazine, etc.) and various uber-like forums (sitepoint), I can't think of anyone who would compare a javascript library.
You could always write to the specific companies you're looking at and ask for information (# of copies sold, specs, etc.)

yes, i saw that posted on ajaxian, i think it was spot on about how to evaluate a framwork, and I'm happy to say that i think jQuery met many of the prerequsites (not the least of which being the excellent documentation and release of bug fixes, extension, development, etc). However, as many of the responses to that post indicated, what we really need are some benchmarks, and I will admit that im part of the problem in that i dont want to learn the other frameworks just to test them-
