How do I make document.execCommand('SaveAs',true,'Report.xls'); JavaScript command to work with IE7?

document.execCommand('SaveAs',false,'Report Name.xls')

In IE7, when i click the Save button in my app, nothing happens - no dialog box pops up like it does in IE6.
Could someone pls let me know the solution or workaround for this problem.

ran into this a while back, there's apparently no work-around short of patching XP:

Your other solution is to send the data back to a server and download it with a content-type attachment, something like:

Content-Type = application/download;Content-Disposition = attachment; filename=Report Name.xls

Thanks for your solution.I figured out the same thing from MS support website.A hotfix or new service pack with the hotfix is needed to fix this problem.It only allows me to save the file as text file(.txt) right now without fix.
