Populate form select option values with the names of .js files contained in a folder.

I have a folder named templates that contains several .js files
that contain data to populate other form field values.

At the time the page is loaded I need to populate the option values of a form
select drop-down menu with the names of the files in the templates folder.

So the result, if there were 8 files in the templates folder, would be like the
following form select with the number of option values being the number of
files contained in the templates folder.
