function within onclick not executing

i have the following code on my onsubmit=
The function UnlockGrid() doesn't execute but not sure why

I need to UnLockGrid() function to execute only if the ok button is selected and just return to the form otherwise

onSubmit="if (confirm('are you sure')) { UnlockGrid() }; else return false">

Here's a better way to implement the method.

   if(result) UnlockGrid();
   return result

i implemented your second entry but it didn't execute the UnLockGrid() function, it did display the alert box.

If the alert pop's up then it did execute the method.  Did you delete my method and replace it with your own?

Also remember that if it returns true that the page will post back and any changes you make in javascript will be lost.
