The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

changing the targets of two seperate frames from a pop up window in a function

I have a web page with three frames. A, B and C in an intranet based app. When the user clicks on a control, I have the page pop up a new window with information on it. This window has a click-able link. I have it working that when a user clicks on the link (an href) the new window closes and the target of frame A changes to display the form I want. I also want to change the target of frame C to a specific form.

I know apparently that you can't do two url/targets on an href so I have to fire off a javascript. That's fine, but how can I change the target of the frames from the pop up if I can't use like TOP or PARENT or anything because it's in another window?

This works from the pop up to change frame A:
a href="www.testpage.html" target=A onclick=function()

But I can't use the href and/or target in the javascript function can I? The closest I can find to put in the function is:
parent.frame.location = "www.testpage.com.html";
But that, it seems to me, is meant for the browser addressing itself. When I put the actual path in like TOP.B.location ... it freaks out.

Oh, and I can't do it in the ONLOAD of the top frame because of other myriad functionality it's dong. Trust me.

Any answers?
