I need a javascript solution that will update the value of any dropdown lists that match names of passed vars with the value of the var

I'd prefer no hardcoded var names, just when my page is called with page.html?varthis=1&somethingelse=48373 that the solution looks for dropdowns with that name and updates the value (showing the client the change)..
