You would have to store that information for later if you wanted to use it. Either in a database, an xml file, a csv, a cookie. You would have to associate the user with their specific layout (if it is a different layout for multiple users) so maybe a cookie, or if they have to be logged in, then you could store it in a database with their user_id.
There are a number of different ways of doing it; it just depends on your setup.
