My issue is that I am using spry and ajax to submit to my db the records, when I elect to create a new record I am clearing out the fields and begining a new record, however my uuid field gets cleared out with out generating a new uuid for the new record. I would like a method in which when new record is selected and the fields are cleared that the uuid field would create and display a new uuid for the record currently being created. Any suggestions?

why do you need to create a uuid and show it in a form field when you are creating a new record? just create a uuid in your INSERT query. i really do not see any reason to create a uuid BEFORE a new record is being inserted...
