Question

How to get the URL of the window I am coming from with JavaScript?

myParentWindow = parent.location.href;
this returns the URL of the Popup window but what I want is the URL of the window browser from which the popup window is opened

1. If you mean to get previous URL from history you can try mess with 'history' object in javascript.

2. If you mean to get URL of window that opens this frame, then you have to pass some parameter to that frame. Instead of calling:

frame.html

you can do:

frame.html?openedFromWindowA


then do the check in javascript:


if (location.search==="?openedFromWindowA") alert('opened from window A');
