Perhaps a question to the Good Folks who bring you Lytebox is in order, eh?

by: stone5150Posted on 2009-08-06 at 12:13:40ID: 25037034

Thanks Quomodo

I think what I need to do is just figure out how to do a body onload for a lytebox window. The problem being that I don't know how to do onloads that well and it usually take a few seconds before lytebox is ready to work after the page loads.

Once I get the lytebox window to open onload I can just do a simple object data script to open it like an iFrame on another page.

by: BadotzPosted on 2009-08-06 at 12:16:55ID: 25037077

This might help:

<script type="text/javascript">

function loader() {
    //
    // Put your Lytebox loading code here
    //
    // It runs AFTER the page is renedered
    //
}

window.onload = loader;
</script>

The code to open lytebox is this, I am not sure how to put that in the script you posted

You can't.

In your example above, Lytebox is invoked as-needed (when the user clicks a link).

Perhaps if you clearly explain what you are trying to achieve, someone can help.

Like, what is an "object data frame"?
Are you wanting a window to remain open that you can throw your images into?

Yes

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the Lytebox?

by: stone5150Posted on 2009-08-07 at 06:42:07ID: 25042549

Pretty much, I just like the navigation.

Now that I think about it there probably are a lot of ways far easier to do it. I am using it for it's intended purpose in another part of the site and liked the way it looked.

Do you know of any scripts that would allow similar navigation in a fixed element?

I don't, but I'll bet Google does ;-)
