Use JavaScript/jQuery to re-organise a drop down menu

Hi all,

I have a website on a CMS that produces the attached code.

Is it possible to use JavaScript/jQuery to re-organise the list so as to group the 2 Australian options together??

Yes, you can do this with jQuery, but I would recommend doing it on the server-side instead. What shopping cart/CMS are you using?

Hi Zyloch,

It's the GoodBarry/Buisness Catalyst CMS.

It's a hosted solution that doesn't allow server side scripting and you cannot access the source code to make such changes.

So while not ideal my only option is client side scripting.

Hi hielo,

Your code worked a treat.

However when an option is selected The UpdateShipping() function runs causing the drop down to be re-written out of order again.

Is there a way that I can your function to run again after an option has been selected to ensure the list says in order in case they want to make another selection??

currently the code has:
$( function(){...} )

you just need to "extract" that function and give it a name - say sortOptions

and then you can call sortOptions whenever you want
