Flexible Adsense based on page size

Hello,
We have dynamic php pages that are 1000px in height and pages that are 2000px in height.
How can we display ads based on the length of the page?
if the page is 2000px then I can put two vertical banners
But if it was shorter then I can add only one vertical banner
I'm sure I can do it with Javascript from scratch but I wanted to know if there are more standard well implemented method/solutions.

Have you worked with jquery before? You will need to download the latest jquery at jquery.com (currently 1.3.2) and link to it in the head of your page.

It's very easy with jquery:

I totally understand what you're saying and yes I'm very familiar with JQuery.
And this would be categorized as the solution I would write by hand.
But I can see other website have this standard going on and I opened the post to see if there other solutions than writing it on my own

I can assume from now what you wrote is working fine
and I have written something similar that works (but without JQuery)
Is there any other technique that all websites use to display ads equivalent to the height of the dynamic page?
