onChange select menu shows/hides sections, IE not working properly

I have a select menu like this:

<select name="category" onChange="faqToggle(this.value);">

Using the attached code I turn off two paragraphs with the ID cardiotype and opt_1b, they look like this:

<p id="cardiotype" style="display:none">blah blah blah</p>

Then depending on the value passed to the script, it displays certain paragraphs. This works fine in Safari and Firefox, but not Internet Explorer. Any idea what IE doesn't like about my script? Thanks!
