JavaScript compilation error

For weeks I've been getting messages popping up on my laptop saying "Microsoft JScript Compilation Error - Syntax Error".  I have not written any scripts, nor would I even know how.  The messages typically surface when running a web page that uses Java, but sometimes they tend to pop up for no reason at all.

I have uninstalled Java using the Add/Remove Programs option in Control Panel.  I then went to Java.com to download the latest version.  I still get the error, and got it numerous times while reinstalling Java.  Not sure what's going on.

My O/S is XP Professional, Service Pack 3.

go to ie, tools, options, advanced

check disable script debigging for ie
check disable script debigging for other
uncheck display error notification for every...

then you should be ok... you will just ignore errors, internet is full of bad programming, and we should just ignore the errors, we do not want to see any error nor debug them ;) happy surfing...

I guess you should uncheck the "Display a notification about every script error" in "Internet Options" dialog

All of my options are set just as you guys recommended above.  But I still get multiple notifications of the error.  One such example is when I go to my bank's website to make an online deposit.  Not only do I get multiple pop-ups of this same error message, but the page will not fully load.  I can execute the same function flawlessly on my other computers going to this same website.

Here is a screenshot of the error.  Sometimes I have to click okay multiple times before it will go away.

then on the same page click reset ;)

tools - internet options - advanced : RESET
also delete all temp files
tools - internet options : delete all files

then close browser, and try again...

I appreciate the suggestions but I still haven't found a solution.  I've noticed that I don't even have to have IE open for the error to occur.  It doesn't happen relentlessly, but maybe once or twice a day the error will pop up for no apparent reason and I say okay, then it goes away.
