Browse All TopicsHi!
Im running Xitami server on a Win98 OS.
Perl scripts work ok, but I have three scripts
that cause my server to hang up,
and when I "ctrl-alt-del" there is several lines with
"winoldap" and "perl".
Is this a server config problem, or is there something
wrong with the scripts?
Regards

downloaded it from
http://www.w3perl.com/inde
and only counters that i have tested needed it
(=problems with all)
peterx,
".downloaded it from http://www.w3perl.com/inde
i visited the URL, where i clearly says that Fly does work on Windows NT & 95, so 98 should be easily covered. Just to confirm, did you download the Windows version?
"...only counters that i have tested needed it..."
From your reply i am assuming that there are other Perl script, that do not user Fly but work perfectly, right?
Did you download the binary installables for Fly or the source code?
Did you try using Fly from the command line? Did that work?
Do let me know.
peterx,
"..at need fly, those hang up..."
Good you clarified that.
"..o havent tried to use it from command line,..."
i would strongly suggest that you try Fly from the command prompt & see if that works.
Only when it works from the command prompt, as you want it to, proceed to the script.
Also, use the exact same command option from the command prompt as you are using from within the Perl script.
This will help you get a more clear idea of the exact cause of any potential failure.
Let me know how it goes.

What version of Perl are you using? Can you post each of those 3 scripts here? Did you try the same script on other web server & OS?
Please provide as much more detail as you can.
This will help you get a more accurate answer, faster.
