Splitting the output of a perl program.

I have written a perl program (as part of a backup solution) that works interactively with the user running it. e.g. It prompts for user input etc... then runs and does its thing. We had decided to keep from logging anything on an interactive session figuring the user could use the console to scroll back and see the output and gather anyinformation they needed from that. Windows will not let you scroll back much more than a few pages even after I max out the buffer size (buffer 999). So now, I dont want to have to re-write the perl code if possible. Is there a way that I can capture everything that goes on during a perl run (STDOUT) while the perl program is running and interacting with the user, and at the end dump that captuer to a log file? If that request is just toally out there, I am definately open to any suggestions that might work as an alternative means of allowing the user to interact with the program and logging at the same time.
