creating .exe with perl

Perl to me is a programming language to create interactive sites, but I have just downloaded a software that is named URLToysPerlSA.exe! How come?

among a lot of other things :-)

On *IX systems, perl is used a lot for system management. The SCM-System Clearcase use to be, and probably is, scriptable in perl. And there are a lot of perl modules to do different things.

If you have downloaded the ActiveState Perl distributuin for Windows, start the ppm (P]erl P]ackage M]anager) on the command line, and type in

   search excel

on the "ppm>" prompt. There are a lot of nich things you can do to execel with perl.
