The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Installing Perl Modules on Mac using CPAN

I'm trying to install a Perl module on my Leopard Mac and used 'cpan <module name>'. This downloaded and expanded the package OK, produced the Makefile but the 'make' stalled because it can't be located. I had thought that all I needed for the 'make' to work was to install the gcc compiler which I did from the Apple Developer site, just installing that part of the Xcode package.

I'm a beginner as far as this is concerned, having worked with Perl in Windows up until now. In fact I tried installing the ActivePerl on the MAc and using their ppm to install the missing packages. This installed the packages OK but I had a problem with the DB_File module which couldn't connect with the BerkeleyDB module about which I've posted a separate question in case this is an easier way for me to proceed.Start Free Trial
