The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to pass command line arguments in pipe to a perl script!!!

Asked by rrajeshekhar in Perl Programming Language, Linux Programming, Bourne-Again Shell (bash)

There is a perl script which takes two command line parameters as input. This script (myscript.pl) has been encrypted using GnuPG tool (i.e. pgp) resulting myscript.pl.asc. When this perl script is decrypted as follows:

gpg --no-tty -q -d --passphrase=key myscript.pl.asc

it prints the perl script on the console. Now instead of storing the result in another file and then executing it by perl, I need to execute the same through pipe as follows:

gpg --no-tty -q -d --passphrase=key myscript.pl.asc | perl

It works fine if the script does not take any command line arguments. But as the script does need two command line arguments, I need help from experts for any perl command switches using which I can pass the arguments to the scripts something like as follows the way it is done for bash scripts:

gpg --no-tty -q -d --passphrase=key add2numbers.sh.asc | bash -s 23 40

where add2numbers.sh.asc is the encrypted file for the bash script, add2numbers.sh which takes 2 arguments to add them. "-s" is the switch to the bash script to tell that 23 and 40 are command line arguments.

In a simple way, how to execute the following line for a perl code:
cat add2numbers.pl | perl -xxxx 12 34
where "-xxxx" switch is unknown. Is it possible to do so?

There are lot of perl scripts which take command line arguments. So I don't want to change the scripts
just to read command line arguments differently. Perl scripts should not be changed as long as possible.

PLEASE HELP ME IN THIS REGARDS.
