We have got a project where we need to clone around 600 applications of different technologies like JAVA,MAINFRAMES,ASP.Net, and PERL. Currently we are unable to find the approaches for cloning a PERL application. We are able to figure out the activities to be done for cloning a java application but still we are not able to solve the problem of cloning a PERL application. I have listed the activities we will carry out in cloning phase of our project. Kindly give us the approaches for cloning a perl application as we do not have a perl trainer or expert our company.
Activities that would be carried out in this phase would be:
" Get Baseline application source code.
" Prepare new Test plan and New Test Cases for the cloning process and get signed off
" Conduct Before Image Testing
" Capture the Test Reports / Results for Before Image Testing and signed off
" Develop temporary interfaces.
" Port the Source Code to Target Environment
" Port the Tools, Utils and Scripts

" Integrate with Data Separation team
" Testing in Development environment
" Deployment document
" Verify Test Environment readiness
" Test Build / Packaging / Deployment
" Perform Testing at staging environment with JLR data
" Fix the defects if any
" Re-Testing at Ford staging environment
" Final Package/Build
" Final Implementation package.
" Release Notes
The core issues to be addressed are
1. How to deploy a perl application
2.How to clone a perl application
3. How to test a perl application
