Perl Soap::Lite for DIME attachment uploads on Web Services

Hi Everyone,
I am currently trying to put together a perl script to upload attachments to Computer Associates Service Desk (using stock standard web services).

As part of this we are using Soap::Lite to put together the web service calls and so far have been going well. However now we are attempting to perform attachment uploads and it has been specified that we need to use DIME to put the attachments in.

We have found that Soap::Lite has limited support for encapsulating attachments using DIME however there is little to no documentation on this and was wondering if anyone had a) had any experience or b) had any example code snippets that I could use as a starting point?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
