I'd like to upgrade from python 2.6 on my CentOS 6.5 to python 2.7. When doing yum install python I get &quot;already installed and latest version. Nothing to do.&quot; I searched the python website documentation page but could not find an install doc. There are lots of how to, and guides but none on upgrading to 2.7 from an older version. Please help. Thanks.

Installing Python 2.7 on CentOS
