ftp command to move a file, NOT COPY!

Asked by GKLSOL in Scripting Languages, MS DOS, Unix Operating Systems

Tags: ftp, move, command, file, copy

does anyone know what the command and syntax are to move a batch of files (anything up to approx 200) and delete them as they are moved, not at the end of copying them.  The problem is that files could be placed onto the server as the copy command is being executed and therefore not copied, but bieng in the directory by the time the delete command is carried out. All of this operation is carried out from an automated batch script without human intervention.

Any sugestions appreciated.
