The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Batch for printing and saving weather: (Safe passage for my ship)

Asked by ChiefIT in Scripting Languages, Windows Programming, Miscellaneous Programming

Howdy:

Thanks in advance for your help. I am OK at batch files, but this one is above my head. Can I get your help with a batch file?

The employer I work for, NOAA, has a weather page that I have to get get some files, save them to a mapped drive, and print them on a printer. I was thinking this could easily be done by using a batch file by someone who knows what the Hey they are doing. Then, I can run this batch file three times a day in task scheduler.

Here is the website:
http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/pages/marine.php

Here are the links to the files we need:
http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/graphics/stream.gif
http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/graphics/npac.gif
http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/graphics/24hr_sfcprog_00.gif
http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/graphics/48hr_sfcprog_00.gif
http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/graphics/seastate_00.gif

The mapped network drive is: W (for Weather)

The printer IP port is 10.48.1.109

NOW for the tricky part, and the reason for a 500 point question:
This migh not be hard for you. But, If we could, I would like to append the date and time  from the system clock of the download to the end of the name of the file while saving. Then, I don't overwrite the existing files.

Example: Instead of stream.gif I would like Stream030908_1300.gif

If you could help me with one file, I will follow the syntax for the rest. Once again, I appreciate the help.

John
