Thanks! I'll see how that goes.....

Browse All TopicsI have a folder (and it's subfolders) on one of our Windows 2K3 servers that need a few things to happen daily. This will be a temporary storage location for some users. I need to run a script that will query all the subfolders and:
A. Move files older than 30 days from all subfolders into another folder on the same server.
B. It also needs to be able to delete files in that "other" folder older than 14 days.
I am unsure if this can be done in a single script or if it needs to be broken into two separate ones.
I borrowed a deletion script from this post:

I have edited it and it works just fine. I am a complete novice when it come to scripting, so I will ask the experts on this one.

We ended up using something a bit more simplistic:
'Delete files in folder if greater than 30 days old and delete sub folders that have not been accessed in a month
Set objFSO = createobject("scripting.fi
Set colFolder = objFSO.GetFolder ("C:\Documents and Settings\b131265f\Desktop\
datetoday = now()
olddate = dateadd("h",-1, datetoday)
For Each objFile in colFolder.files
if objfile.DateLastAccessed < olddate then
objFSO.DeleteFile objFile
end if
Next
For Each objFolder in colFolder.subfolders
if objFolder.DateLastAccessed
objFSO.DeleteFolder objFolder
end if
Next
