In this context, traffic is the number of bytes transferred from the web server to the users of the site, within a time period (usually per month).
There are a number of things you can do to reduce traffic:
- optimize videos (if you have any)
- reduce the number of videos (if you have any)
- optimize the images
- reduce the number of images
- optimize the markup (use external css files, not html attributes and/or inline css)
- reduce the number of pages (probably not what you want)
- reduce the number of users (probably not what you want)
Exactly what you can do in your case depends on the pages, but this should give you an idea.
