uploading data to microsoft access using ruby

Hello
I have a text file (textfile.txt) which needs uploading to microsoft access - for example ...
column 1 column 2
001234 abcde
012345 fghijk-dfr
Lets say my access dbase is called db1 and the table called table1
My attempt thus far works to the point where I can introduce values but have no idea how to upload a text file with many many rows - any help much appreciated. Below is my attempt .....

require 'win32ole'
connection = WIN32OLE.new('ADODB.Connection')
connection.Open('Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\db1.mdb')
connection.Execute("INSERT INTO Table1 VALUES ('01232', 'abcde');")
