I would like to do a simple form, name, and pick from vanilla, chocolate or strawberry.
In days gone by I have done perl / CGI site however ruby cgi will not scale so you use mod_perl.
How does this work in Ruby ?
I am running in redhat linux 5.3

You can do cgi programming with any language, ruby is not exception. For such "simple" tasks youu may loke to check the cgi area of ruby

So I do not understand why one should bother with scaling such an application...
If the stuff get's larger you might like to check out Rails. Howerver in your case it surely would be overkill.
