Running remote ssh commands
Hello,
I have a remote server running ubuntu server and when I want to update the code (via subversion) I have to keep logging in and running the same old commands over and overs.
I would like to know if there is a way I can login to the server via ssh and run these commands, outputting the output on-screen via a ruby script.
This would be a real funky and time saving script!!

This defines a single task, called search_libs , and says that it should be executed only on the www.capify.org host. When executed, it will display all files and subdirectories in /usr/lib that include the text xml in their name. By default, run will display all output to the console.
Assuming your capfile is in the current directory, you would execute that task like this (from the command-line):
cap search_libs
---
The syntax is very like rake, creating tasks.
So, you could have a task that would
* export code
* move config files into project (password file you didn't have in the repo, for instance)
* restart webserver
All the output of the remote tasks will be shown on your local console.
If this is a rails app, there are pre-built scripts for that. Super handy.
