Yea, this is an old piece of code I'm trying to get running again. I'll see if using Rails 2.2.2 makes any difference.

Browse All TopicsI'm trying to get ruby on rails working with the MySQL install from MAMP. I've followed the instructions at

But now I get the error at
http://groups.google.com/g
The only solution I've found on the net involves a hack of each rails app itself which is not good.
The error as it shows in the browser is
NameError in HomeController#index
uninitialized constant MysqlCompat::MysqlRes
Rails 1.2.5
Ruby 1.8.7
MAMP 1.7.2
OSX 10.6

Problem ended up being using the wrong ARCHFLAGS for the gem install, I was using i386 instead of the 64 bit one. For anyone wondering...
- I didn't need to intsall 64bit mysql or anything as stated elsewhere, MAMP 1.7.2 was left as is
- Not sure if previous compilations and moving of library files etc. in the link given had an effect on the final success, I haven't undone all that to see if a straight gem nstall with the right flags would work

I'm not 100% sure YET what that problem is, but can I just point out, that is a very old version of rails
We're now on 2.3.4 now I think
try running "gem update --system" then "gem update"
