I have and server which is running LAMPP on Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5 update 2. Now I want to configure Ruby on Rails on it, keeping the Apache and LAMPP configuration as it is. We are ready to install new webservers in the system or configuring Apache and Passenger in the server which should work for both PHP and Ror , I guess. I don't know the exact technology to do so.
So what I need from you is the solution for my requirement and the step by step procedure to do so.
I appreciate your effort for trying to solve my problem.
P.S: Currently my LAMP is loaded in /opt/LAMPP and my htdocs folder of Apache is located at
/opt/lampp/htdocs.
Thanks,
Souvik

Install ruby enterprise edition: dition.com /
http://www.rubyenterprisee
Install passenger:
http://www.modrails.com/
Follow the instructions to set up the passenger apache module.
Restart apache.
Make a virtual host for your site and tell it to use passenger and ruby enterprise.
Assuming you've vendored all of your gems and vendored rails, just deploy your app, set the path in your virtual host, reload apache, and make sure DNS is set up correctly.
