Connecting to a share as a different user

Hi,

I am currently running this script:

REM Disconnect any connections
NET USE "\\AServer\AShare$" /delete

REM Connect as a user with appropriate access
NET USE "\\AServer\AShare$" APassword /user:DOMAIN\AUser

REM Copy the file
COPY /Y "\\AServer\AShare$"\AFile.csv" I:\Folder1\AnotherFile.CSV


The intention is to temporarily connect to a share as DOMAIN\AUser, and copy a file.




However the output of the script is like this:

REM Disconnect any connections
NET USE "\\AServer\AShare$" /delete

>> The network connection could not be found


REM Connect as a user with appropriate access
NET USE "\\AServer\AShare$" APassword /user:DOMAIN\AUser

>> Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user..........


REM Copy the file
COPY /Y "\\AServer\AShare$"\AFile.csv" I:\Folder1\AnotherFile.CSV

>> 1 file(s) copied




The problem is that even though the file is being copied, the batch file returns an error code and incorrectly reports that it failed, which messes up my error reporting.



Questions:

1. Does NET USE require a drive letter? Is this why I am getting 'The network connection could not be found' at the first  step? I dont wan't to use a drive letter, I just want to connect as a user that has appropriate rights

2. Should I somehow use PERSISTENT:NO? I don't want it to be persistent conneciton, I just want to connect as the user temporarily and copy the data.

3. The 'Multiple connections to a server....' error: When I type NET USE, I don't see a connection to this server listed. However when I try to connect, I get this error.... whats going on????
