The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Need simple batch file to move files from folders with varying names to an archive folder

Hello,

Every day, medical transcriptions in the form of Word docs are downloaded to our Win2K server from a transcription vendor. The download process creates a folder for that date (ex-"022508").  The docs are downloaded to this folder. There are several users that use this service, each has a directory. Each user processes the document, then renames it by adding "PROC"  to the filename when it is ready to be archived. I need a simple batch file that will find these "processed" files in each users directory (by searching for "PROC")  and move them to an Archive folder assigned to each user.

The path to where the files are found would be similar to:
C:\Transcriptions\Our Company Name\Dr. John Doe, M.D.\022508\transcriptPROC.doc
C:\Transcriptions\Our Company Name\Dr. Jane Smith, M.D.\022008\transcriptPROC.doc
The directory "Dr. John Doe, M.D." would have a different name for each user (as in 2nd path above).
The directory "022508" is in the position in the path where a new (additonal) folder is created automatically with the date each time documents are downloaded.

The files need to move to:
C:\Transcriptions\Archives\JD (for Dr. John Doe)
C:\Transcriptions\Archives\JS (for Dr. Jane Smith
Where the "JD" and "JS" position in the path would be a directory for each user.

The archive directories do not need to have sub-directories - all files can be lumped into the single directory.
Please note I can't rename any folders, so all the spaces and punctuation must remain.

Having a separate batch file for each user would be acceptable.

Thanks!
