Thanks - how would i alter this for the path C\Temporary Internet Files\OLK43D

where OLD43D would be called something different for each user?

Thanks really appreciate this.

rd /s /q "C\Temporary Internet Files\OLK43D"

by: doron200Posted on 2008-04-14 at 10:00:58ID: 21351618

Sure - so each user will create a folder typically from outlook automatically throught the year and windows creates it in the temp directory as above.. naming it seems random but always begins with OLK.

SO now we have a couple of files called OLKxxx  in the directory, eg "C\Temporary Internet Files\OLK43D"

each time the user opens an excel attachement they receive via email, it create a .xls in one on these OLKxxx folders. I need to create a batch file for the users across 200 odd, to auto delete these files in these OLKxxx folders, reason being becasue when it reached .xls #99 or the same named file in the OLKxxx folder, the next time the user tried to open the outlook attachment of the same name, the system32 folder would open instead...

Hope this make sense.

last one..

how do I use this for multiple directories, e.g.  C:\temp also.. ??

so this works: @ECHO OFF
CD "C:\Temporary Internet Files"
FOR /F %%I IN ('DIR /B /AD') DO (
  RD /S /Q %%I
)

now would like to use it for other directories, have tried duplicating on the end but no joy.
