There are a number of methods to keep a script running. It's possible to include the PAUSE command to wait until a user hits a key, or to use a command like "PING LOCALHOST 10 > NUL" to wait for a number of seconds. External programs can be launched with START /WAIT to suspend further processing until the program is closed. GOTO loops can be used to repeat sequences endlessly.
