Asked by tijsjansen in Windows Batch Scripting, VB Script, Network Operations
Hi there,
I need to schedule a remote shutdown for a number of workstations. They will however still be running some applications, some of them office 2003/2007 programs, mainly Excel. I don't need to save any files but when I close the programs using the /f switch with the shutdown command I get errors the next time I start up excel again. Is there a way to script a response (NO in this case) to the question from excel if I wish to save the changes to the open document? I've read about using macro's in excel that do just that but I need to execute it remotely (full admin rights). Is there some vbs script or a program that I can use to do this? Thanks for your help.
