I receive this error quite often when I use V.Basic 5.0
"File/Path Access Error \temp\vbxx.tmp"
where vbxx.tmp is a temp file created (I guess) from vb -different number "xx" every time-.
When this happens I cannot save or run the program I am designing at the moment.
Why is this happening???

I would strongly suggest clearing out some space in the almost full drive and seeing if that will solve your problem.
In the error you note above, you (or VB) didn't specify which drive the \temp\vbxx.tmp file was on. If VB didn't report this, this could mean that VB is trying to write/read the file on the same drive the application is saved.
Also, just a thought, make sure the temp directory actually exists.

I think that this is the problem. I do not have a temp directory
on th HD that the applicaton is saved. I will create one
there and see what happens.

There are a couple of reasons why this might happen:
1. You are almost out of disk space. (most likely)
2. You have an application running in the background which is constantly deleting temp files it thinks you no longer need. (least likely)
3. You deleted the file yourself. (possible, but I doubt it)
VB needs the temp files it creates _while_it_is_running_. You can delete vbxx.tmp (all of them) after you close VB.
