If making the .exe in VB then you retrieve them via the variaBLE Command$

e.g

Private Sub Form_Load()

    MsgBox Command$

End Sub

Use it like this

c:\..\MyExe <space> param1 <space> param2 ....

Also make sure that u set the path for the exe.
make sur u give single space by pressing the space bar between ur exe and param name in DOS prompt.

Good luck..

If you're trying to get VB to run a DOS .exe, then you may need to address several things.

1) The basic command is Shell, so in VB use something like:
   dim Result as Integer
   dim Parm1 as string
   dim Parm2 as string
   Parm1 = "DOSParm1"
   Parm2 = "2ndDOSParm"
   Result = Shell("DOS_Exe.exe " & Parm1 & " " & Parm2)

2) If this command is not in the current O/S path, you'll need to process the command using the full path:
   ...
   Result = Shell("C:\Path1\SubPath2\DOS_Exe.exe " & Parm1 & " " & Parm2)

3) In some cases, you may need to actually open a command shell, which differs depending on the Windows version (Win95/98/ME use "Command" and NT/2000 use "cmd"):

   'Use COMSPEC to determine command variation
   WinCom = Environ("ComSpec")' Command or cmd
   Result = Shell(WinCom "/c DOS_Exe.exe " & Parm1 & " " & Parm2)

FYI
According to the original question: "how to pass the variables as parameters to a exe file in dos prompt" the answer should go to ksrtc, and without further information we can only guess that pvqiriraj probably wanted to know how to get VB to receive them.
