Microsoft Office Installer appears when running a Program created in VB

We have developed an application using VB6.
When packaged and deployed on to a fresh pc that has office 2000 installed. On running the software, the office 2000 installer appears and looks for the CD.

It is because your application requires using some components of office 2000 and that must also be installed on your new machine.

First install office 2000 and then install your application it will work fine.

That is what i have said already, Office is already installed. The software runs on windows 2000, and we have an impersonated user that runs the software through a service.

Hi Shawngd,

Office 2000 is having facility to install some component on first use, so office will not fully installed if you go for typical installation of office, that's why it will show you installation window again when you start other application that requires office components.

hi vijayneema,

Thats a good justification, but what do u have any idea why the office components would be required when i run a VB application, as there are no components to my knowledge that are associated with the project that has interface to office products.
