I'm using the ubiquitous SndPlaySound function to play a WAV file. Everything's cool, except when I try to stop the WAV file playing by pressing a button. You see, when I do this:
Variable=SndPlaySound(" ", &H1)
or
Variable=SndPlaySound(" ", SND_ASYNC)
the WAV file does stop playing in its tracks, but a 'ding' sound is first heard before the WAV file stops (Windows default for 'file not found'?). Don't want the 'ding'.
When I try this:
Variable=SndPlaySound(" ", SND_ASYNC Or SND_NODEFAULT)
the 'ding' sound disappears alright, but guess what - the WAV file continues to play - it doesn't stop as before!
What I'm of course after is for the WAV file to stop playing, and not be accompanied by a 'ding'. Suggestions please?

None of these suggestions worked for me. In the end, I resolved this myself by not using the SndPlaySound function, but the:

hwndCallback As Long) As Long
function.
