The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Stamping ID's on paragraphs in Word

I need to sycronize paragraphs in word with records in a content table in SQLserver. So I need to find a way to stamp a record id onto a paragraph. It needs to stay with the paragraph regardless of what the user does, ie start new paragraphs before it, cut/paste etc...

Now the paragraph object has an ID property, but it acts like an index to an array. If you insert a paragraph, the below paras get pushed down the array, but the ID'stay in the same ordinal position and are now linked to the previous paragraph content. A scrambled mess.

The best I've been able to come up with is anchoring a shape to the first character of the paragraph, and storing the id in the label. They float around with the paragraph pretty good, but cut operation leaves the shape orphaned behind attached to nothing, and the paste inserts without the shape.

The plan for now is to override the cut and paste menu items and move the shape with it. This will probably work ok, but is not ideal as I can see it going ary.

The other downside is some of these documents are 80 to a 100 pages and the shapes are heavy and cause a serious performance hit and may even make word unstable.

Does anyone have a  better way to do this?
