Browse All TopicsHi,
I need to create a simple app that takes all the files in a folder and compresses them to save disc space.
I have this code which compresses by folder but the compression is not very good (from 12 to 2 megs in a test, whereas I get 12 to .5 megs if I right-click compress in WinXP)
Dim strComputer As String = "."
Dim objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _
& "{impersonationLevel=imper
Dim colFolders = objWMIService.ExecQuery _
("Select * from Win32_Directory where name = 'c:\\Scripts'")
Dim objFolder
Dim objFile
Dim errResults As String
For Each objFolder In colFolders
errResults = objFolder.Compress
Console.Write("result code: " & errResults)
Next
So the question is "how do I use the XP built in compression to programmatically"?
Thanks for the help,
Jon
