I'd rather not have to learn an almost entirely new language just for this project though.

Browse All TopicsI am using vb6 and created an activex document exe project and has various userdocuments in it. I have tested these all locally and they all work fine.
Now when I go to package the project into a cab, I put the cab on the webserver and put the html into an html file. But when I attempt to visit the html page, it does ask me if i wish to install the cab file and I click yes, then when I click on a link on the same page that points to a vbd file it gives me the download prompt.
This doesn't make sense as the userdocument works just fine and has even been debugged. I even checked my Downloaded Program Files directory and the exe doesn't exist there, nor does the inf file. Why isn't it working correctly?

Welcome to a technology that has never worked on PCs other then the one it was developed on!
Forget all about it and rewrite in VB.Net which has WebForms applications that are working.
