Browse All TopicsI'm wondering how I can set permissons on "c:\program files" to full read/write access through a vbscript. I need this done for my employees with "restricted user" access on their local machine since I need to be able to create a folder, copy files and/or update files. I found a few refrences to using a command line program SETACL but I haven't been able to get it to work yet, both the old and new version. Do I have any other options? Thanks.

I don't think you will be able to change the permissions through any programmatic means without having Administrator access to each machine. This is to say that you will need to be logged in as Administrator and run your script in order for it to work.
Still, maybe you need to go get a book on WMI or find some information online about it. Like here:

That might be what you are interested in (learn it and then go ask for a raise).
