The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Random Number Generation - Very Complex

Asked by sadshead in Visual Basic Programming

I need to generate 15 random numbers between 1 and 90 heres the catch...

* Its for a UK bingo card which is split into 9 columns and 3 rows.
* In order for there only to be 15 numbers 3 of the colums will only contain 1 random number.
* Each column must have the smallest value at the top and largest underneath.

I need to send these random numbers to an access database set out as follows:

| 01 | 11 | 21 | 31 | 41 | 51 | 61 | 71 | 81 |
| 02 | 12 | 22 | 32 | 42 | 52 | 62 | 72 | 82 |
| 03 | 13 | 23 | 33 | 43 | 53 | 63 | 73 | 83 |

* the first digit in each fieldname is the column and the second is the row

the card produced should look something like this:

| 01 | --- | 24 | 34 | 40 | --- | --- | --- | 81 |
| 04 | 10 | --- | --- | 48 | 57 | 66 | --- | --- |
| --- | 18 | --- | 39 | --- | --- | 69 | 73 | 90 |

I just cannot get my head around how to do this!!! I need to generate 100's of random and hopefully unique cards. Has anybody got any ideas short of typing them in myself!?!

I can program in ASP or VB6 to a reasonable standard but this has got the better of me.!

I hope you Experts can help!
